If your username and password are not working...
If your username is the same as your email address, then you must also enter the email suffix (i.e. "jason@yahoo.com" and not just "jason").  This is the most common cause of login failure.

There should never be any spaces inserted in your username or password.

If you registered in person and are experiencing difficulty logging in, please note that the number entered in the upper right hand corner of your contract is a transaction code (not a password).  Above that code there is a url (a web address) printed that you must go to in order to select your personal username and password.   When you visit that page you will be prompted to enter the transaction code.  If that does not solve the problem, please contact us.

If your membership was purchased more than 90 days ago, your account may have been de-activated.  If you would like to check your registration date, please click here.

On very rare occasion a member accessing our site from behind a corporate firewall may experience difficulty logging in.  You may either try using another computer, or contact us for further assistance.

 

If you did not receive a username and password...

When registering online, you will be prompted to select a username and password immediately after your transaction is approved.  If this prompt did not appear, then your transaction probably did not complete.  Please wait 10-15 minutes to see if an electronic receipt is sent to your email. If the receipt does not arrive in your email, then odds are that no transaction took place.  If the receipt does arrive, please respond to that email and we will send your username and password back to you.

II. If you cannot locate your account using the link above, we will need:

  1. Your full name and/or the email address you used when registering
  2. Your method of payment (online / in person / credit card / or check)
  3. If you remember either your username or password, please let us know.

To check if your membership is still active...

Memberships automatically expire after 30 or 90 days, depending on the type of membership you registered for.  To find out when you registered, please click here.

 

Do you have any rentals in (your area) in the (your price) range?

All rentals currently in our database are listed on our preview pages.  Links to the preview pages are located on our homepage at www.bay4rent.com or www.sf4rent.com

 

Can you help me find a place in (your area)?

Bay4Rent/SF4Rent is a rental listing service only, and does not perform full service searches.  However, such services are offered by an affiliate company.

 

I just joined, why do I still see the same listings as before?

Preview pages do not show contact information (i.e. phone number / email address) for listing parties.  If you are a member and do not see contact information, please be sure to first login to the members area before viewing listings.  To access the members area, go to the homepage at www.sf4rent.com or www.bay4rent.com and click on "Member Login" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

 

I don't have an e-mail address, can I still register online?

The purpose of the email field on the registration form is so that you may receive an electronic receipt of your membership.   We suggest that you sign up for a free email account at www.hotmail.com.  If you prefer, you may simply enter our email address, which is "support@bayarea4rent.com".

 

My credit card was declined, why?

Almost all credit card declines are caused by an address verification failure.  Please be sure that the address you enter on the registration form is the address that your credit card company has on file (i.e. the address where your credit card bills are sent).  If you are in the process of relocating, you should probably enter your last permanent address.
